The Society began in the late 1970s, when a small group of dedicated kite lovers came together to celebrate their shared fascination with the art and science of flight. What started as casual gatherings on beaches and open fields soon grew into a nationwide network of flyers eager to share their knowledge, skills, and spectacular creations.
Over the decades, AKS has played a key role in nurturing kite culture across Australia.
